Timothy Gallagher

Timothy Gallagher, the founder of The Gallagher Law Group, is a seasoned attorney with a wealth of experience in business and environmental litigation. A graduate of the University of Southern California and Loyola Law School, and a member of Phi Beta Kappa, Timothy’s legal acumen and dedication are unrivaled.

Timothy has represented clients in numerous complex cases, ranging from litigation to compliance counseling. His expertise in environmental law covers a broad spectrum, including air, water, toxic substances, mining, Superfund, CEQA, and hazardous waste issues. He has a track record of success in designing risk transfer and financial mechanisms for long-term remediation and operation and maintenance facilities.

One of his notable achievements includes negotiating, documenting, and closing the largest environmental liability transfer arrangement to date on behalf of the State of California. This involved the Iron Mountain Mines case, a transaction of approximately one billion dollars over thirty years.

In addition to litigation, Timothy has a significant mediation practice. He has mediated diverse cases, from sexual abuse claims in the Boy Scouts of America’s Chapter 11 to environmental claims arising from coal ash for Duke Energy Carolinas LLC. His mediation practice extends to international matters, toxic tort actions, patent infringement and antitrust claims, insurance disputes, and class actions involving a large number of plaintiffs.
